Flexible Packaging Supplier Directory
The right flexible packaging supplier depends on what you need made and who will fill it. A film producer, pouch converter, full-service manufacturer, co-packer, and equipment company solve different parts of the job. Identify the missing capability first, then request quotes from companies that actually provide it.
Which supplier role fits?
- Film producer: Makes base or specialty film for a converter or manufacturer. Start with film extrusion companies if the job is a film structure.
- Pouch converter: Turns film into premade pouches and may add printing, zippers, or fitments. See pouch manufacturers when the pouch itself is the purchase.
- Full-service manufacturer: May combine design, film sourcing, printing, converting, and production coordination. Read flexible packaging manufacturers for that role.
- Co-packer: Fills and seals a package for the brand. Use the co-packer guide when the missing step is filling, not just empty-package supply.
- Equipment supplier: Supplies or integrates the machinery needed to form, fill, or seal packs. See equipment vendors if the line itself is the constraint.
These roles can overlap. Ask each company which steps it performs directly, which it outsources, and who is responsible if a film, seal, or filled pouch fails.
Send the same useful brief to each candidate
A quote request should name the product, fill weight or volume, expected annual volume and first order, package dimensions, preferred format, print needs, target shelf life, and where the package will be sold. Include the current filling method and machine, filling temperature, any oxygen or moisture target, and food-contact or other regulatory requirements that apply. State which details are estimates so a supplier knows what still needs testing.
Ask for minimum order quantity, tooling or plate charges, sample and trial costs, lead time, pricing at your realistic volume, and the tests that support the proposed structure. Two prices are not comparable when one includes printing and testing and the other is only for unprinted film.
Verify fit before committing
Request samples on the intended line and test sealed, filled packages under realistic handling and storage. Confirm ownership of artwork and tooling, change-control steps, quality documentation, and how problems will be resolved. A supplier's capability statement is a starting point, not proof that its proposed structure works for your product.
This directory currently includes a small set of featured supplier records and role guides; it is not a complete market listing or a ranking of qualified companies. If you need help defining the project before making contact, send the specification you have and identify the decisions that are still open.
